Installation
Welcome to a short guide about how to install and use FanFictionDownloader.
I've created a short (Video) presentation. Klick HERE to view it.

This version of FanFictionDownloader requires an installed version of Calibre on your Computer. Calibre is a free and open source e-book library management software for Windows/Linux and Mac. It can be downloaded here: Calibre
Important steps:
- Download the newest version of FanFictionDownloader from this page. Download
- Download the newest version of Calibre from the Calibre website. Calibre website
- Install Calibre. During the installation you are prompted for an installationpath. Write it down, you'll need it later (e.g. C:\Program Files\Calibre2 (Win 7®)). You don't need to start Calibre.
- Extract FanFictionDownloader. The program needs writing permission to the folder you are extracting it to. If you are not sure and using Win 7® or Vista® use "My Documents"
- Start FanFictionDownloader.exe. It'll ask you to open the "Configuration Dialog". Click on the button "Open Config"
- Click on the first button with the three dots "…". It's located beneath "Calibre: path to "ebook-convert.exe"
- A "select file" dialog is opened. Navigate to the path of your Calibre installation path (see step 3) and select the application "ebook-convert.exe". Then press "Open"
- The "select file" dialog is closed and the path to "ebook-convert.exe" should be written in the config dialog. (e.g. C:\Program Files\Calibre2\ebook-convert.exe (Win 7®))
- You have to select the output directory next. That's the path to a folder where the downloaded fanfictions will be stored. To set it click on the three dots "…" beneath "Fanfiction output path"
- A "select folder" dialog appears. Select an existing folder or create a new one. Use "My Documents" if you are not sure about writing permissions (same like step 4)
- Press the "Save" button
- Close FanFictionDownloader and restart it.
- Now you are ready to download your favourite fanfictions. Enjoy
